Google acquired Channel Intelligence for $125 million. Channel Intelligence supports clients in promoting their products across the Web by helping retailers manage their products listings on comparison shopping sites such as Google Shopping.
Currently about 1/3 of shoppers start searches on Amazon, compared to only 13% on a search engine. Google hopes the Channel Intelligence deal will help change these statistics.
