Google acquires Rangespan, a UK-based online shopping retailer. The company was founded in 2011 by Ryan Regan and Matt Henderson, two former Amazon executives. Rangespan provided back office services to companies that included Tesco. Services provided by Rangespan include real-time analytics to support retailers in dynamically determining product offerings.
Rangespan had raised $5 million in venture capital from Octopus Investments.
Rangespan will wind down its offerings to retailers and suppliers as it works within Google to develop shopping services.
