Google acquires Bebop Technologies, a stealth company developing a platform for building and maintaining enterprise applications in the cloud. Diane Greene, the companies co-founder, was appointed head of Google's cloud business. Greene is the former CEO of VMware, which was sold to EMC in 2003 for $635 million.
The move signals a step in Google's attempt to become a major player in enterprise cloud computing.
